John Lydon has conveyed pretty much the same message in every interview for over the last 35 years, (even from the years when he was called Johnny Rotten). That is a good thing. He is very entertaining, honest (must be his favorite word by the way) and extremely "black and white" in his way of arguing.
He can seem very angry and aggressive when you see the interviews but it's more of a disrespect aimed at the interviewer or/and he just thinks that the questions are very lame. It is not that he tries to be polite to the interviewer, more the other way around.... and that is also a good thing.
John just wants to make the World a little better place to live in. I think that whatever you’re doing in your life that you should at least once a year read or see an interview with Mr. Lydon and let yourself be somewhat inspired by what he says about honesty, being true to yourself and your environment.
If we, for some reason, would vote for a board consisting only of 10 elected people who would run the World in a full scale dictatorship sort of way, I would put my vote on John Lydon to be one of those elected few.
If you haven't seen any interviews with John from before there is a tone of them on YouTube, I have chosen some resent ones just to show you that you can never take the punk attitude away from Mr. Lydon, Never Ever!
On a side note he was also a member of one of the coolest bands ever.
Never mind the bollocks John!
Ferrari is sometimes associated with people with more money than taste. I guess at times that there is some truth in this. However if you look (and listen) at the actual product, Ferrari is truly a piece of art. For me personally cars in general, and Ferrari in particular, have always been more about the sound (and function of course) than looks.
I grew up in London and every Sunday morning Formula 1 was shown on ITV. The memories of listening to the sound of the cars and the fantastic and legendary commentator Murray Walker makes me very nostalgic. Formula 1 back in those days was however much more about the passion than the business that it is nowadays and that is why I have lost interest in the sport. When Senna died, Formula 1 died to in many ways. (In regards to Senna, we will have a private screening of the documentary of Senna in August, if you’re a Senna fan and would like to see the movie please send me an email and I will make sure that you'll get a ticket. My email: marcus@nittygritty.se)
What hasn't died though is my love for the sound of an engine. I can't explain how impressed I was when my favourite movie director, Sofia Coppola, used a Ferrari 360 Modena engine almost as a main soundtrack for her masterpiece "Somewhere". That alone makes her the coolest woman on the planet! Another perfect example of the use of car engine sounds as part of a movie soundtrack is John Frankenheimer's film "Ronin". The car chase scene in central Paris is almost completely without any music. The stunt driver is a former Formula 1 driver and drives straight into oncoming traffic... If you’re into cars I can really recommend that you watch the extras of the film Ronin, John Frankenheimer explains what cars he used during the car chase and how they recorded the sounds of different cars from different driving tracks. You will also see clips from John’s cult classic "Grand Prix" from 1966.
However, this weekend I spent 24 hours together with Ferrari enthusiasts at the racetrack Mantorp followed by a dinner in the beautiful little town of Vadstena. Here are some pictures of some nice cars; unfortunately I can't post the sound of and from them....
Let’s get down to the Nitty Gritty of cars…

A couple of weeks ago we bought a Ping Pong (or Table tennis, but I prefer Ping Pong) table to Nitty Gritty, since then we've been playing Ping Pong like there is no tomorrow. If you're any good, please feel free to come by the store and challenge us. The #1 player at Nitty Gritty is Computer Mike, just so you know.
Game on!
Finally some new Beastie Boys on it's way! Here's the trailer for the new video.
