Nitty Gritty Music - Italia '90

World Cup in Italy 1990 is often regarded as the poorest World Cup ever, with low goalscoring, the highest amount of red cards issued to date, and safe tactics used by a lot of the teams. With back-pass rules introduces in 1992 as a consequence.
Despite this it was one of the most watched events in television history.

Sweden didn't make it through the group stage, so our tournament was cut short.
A lot of eyes were instead pointed towards "the islands" and the English squad with the very charismatic Gazza.
They made it through one of the tightest group stages of time, and went on to play West Germany in the semi-final.
Probably one of the most iconic matches played by one of the best English squads ever. The pictures of Gazza heartbroken after realizing that he won't play the final if England went through has been seen by everyone over and over again.

At the same time the Madchester music scene was flourishing, so we compiled a soundtrack to the World Cup in Italy 1990 with music from Great Britain.

Nitty Gritty Music - An introduction to Nu-Disco

I have no idea how to sum up Nu-Disco in just a few sentences so I'd thought the list should speak for itself (though it is probably even harder to sum it up with less then 20 songs). However, one thing is for sure, few other genres combines as many different kinds of music as Nu-Disco. If Nu-Disco is a genre that is.

Nitty Gritty Music - Mötley Crüe

With Eric currently away it’s time for me, Marcus, to do a guest appearance here on his blog.

This summer Mötley Crüe and KISS are going on a double headliner tour all over the US. Mötley are also back in the studio to start recording their first studio album in over 6 years, and Vince Neil just opened up his own strip club in Las Vegas. So these gentlemen are keeping themselves busy…
 
They may nowadays be old heroes that now mostly are just that…old. However Tommy Lee still looks cool as hell and he still plays the drums like no one else.
