HOW MUCH IS THAT BABY IN THE WINDOW?

En söndag för några veckor sedan levde vi loppisliv i Birkastan. Så himla trevligt, är själv väldigt förtjust i att skrota runt på loppisar och det är minst lika kul att vara den som säljer. Man träffar skönt folk och känslan när något gammalt blir uppskattat på nytt är så härlig.
Jag idkade byteshandel också och kom hem med ett par rejäla fuskpälsvantar, perfekt i vinter när man ska dra barnvagn i iskyla. Maxine var förstås med, och jag kunde inte låta blir att ta en bild när hon däckat i skyltfönstret (bakom Tranans drinkbok). Jag hade kunnat sälja väldigt många exemplar av henne, ha ha ha.
Den här loppisen hade massage också, 50 kr för 20 minuter. Bara en sån sak! Tack Thomas för att du styrde upp så bra. Jag är gärna med nästa år igen, såklart.

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND

Jag har alldeles uppenbarligen pippi på ugglor just nu. Bara den här veckan har jag köpt en prickig kudde med en handsydd tyg-uggla på till Maxine och den underbara koppen från Iittala till alla mysiga testunder. Och idag fick jag syn på en som jag kan ha med mig hela tiden. En handmålad ring i lackat trä, från Smiley Vintage i varuhuset PUB. J´adore! Den flyger till Paris snart också, wo-hoo.

Translation:
I´ve clearly got a thing for owls right now. I´ve bought a dotted pillow with a hand sewn owl for Maxine and that magic tea mug from Iittala in just a few days time. I spotted another one today which will be keeping me company from now on. A hand painted wooden ring, I got it at Smiley Vintage (PUB department store). J´adore! And this particular owl will be flying to Paris very soon too, wo-hoo...

I´LL HAVE LUNCH, GOOD HEALTH AND CARMEN KASS, PLEASE

Jag fick det bästa av två världar igår. Jag, Maxine och vovven Gustav käkade långlunch med ljuvliga Anna, Juni-Li och vovven Debbie vid Nytorget. Anna är frisör extraordinaire på d.o.m hairdressing som delar lokal med oss på Nitty Gritty, men mammaledig nu förstås. Mys, tack ni fina!
Sen lämnade jag lillan och vovven till min karl utanför Grand Hotel, och gick vidare till vackra Skeppsholmskyrkan för rosa bubbel och modevisning med Carmen Kass för Pink Collection av Narciso Rodriguez. Kollektionen säljs på Lindex och 10% av priset på plaggen går direkt till Cancerfonden för kampen mot bröstcancer. Bara att shoppa loss med gott samvete alltså!

...Och när vi ändå är inne på att göra gott, om du inte har skänkt något till översvämningsoffren i Pakistan ännu så är det hög tid att göra det. Din hjälp behövs, det räddar liv.



Translation:
Me, Maxine and Gustav the dog got to hang with the lovely Anna (from d.o.m hairdressing, they share shop space with us at Nitty Gritty), her baby girl Juni-Li and their dog Debbie for a long lunch yesterday. Loved it, they´re the sweetest.
Then my man met up with me to take care of Maxine and Gustav while I went to a fashion show feat. Carmen Kass for Pink Collection by Narciso Rodriguez. The collection is sold at Lindex and 10% of the retail price goes directly to breast cancer research. Such an important cause, go shopping!

MAGIC TEA TIME

Modevecka i London, ganska passande att just då införskaffa en ny, f(ashion)abel tekopp. (Förlåt särskrivningen, jag kunde inte låta bli den ordvitsen.) Jag har letat länge efter den rätta till alla härliga höststunder i hemmets lugna vrå, och igår fann jag den i Iittalas butik på Götgatan på Söder. Min väninna hade varit där alldeles nyligen, så hon visade mig dessa och det var kärlek vid första ögonkastet. Från fablernas magiska värld!

Smaken för i afton är grönt te med vanilj och mjölk. Favoriten.


Translation:
London Fashion Week, sort of the right time to shop for a new, large tea cup, no? I´ve been looking for the right one for ages, and yesterday it appeared before my eyes thanks to a dear friend of mine. It was love at first sight. From Iittala, the style is called Taika, which means magic in English. And that´s just what it is.

Tonight´s flavour? Green tea with vanilla and milk. My favourite.

A SEPTEMBER WALK HOME

Schizofrent men härligt väder innan helgen, tokregn och sol om vartannat, ibland samtidigt. Jag packade gummistövlarna och ett paraply i vagnen och tog mig en långpromenad idag. Har haft problem med ryggen igen, så det var första gången på hela veckan som jag lämnade lägenheten för annat än naprapat eller hundpink.
Det måste ju firas, så jag klädde mig i matchande kavaj och fodral från Roseanna med The Local Firm t-shirt under. Inte det minsta praktiskt när man ska amma, men det var helt klart värt det extra besväret. Mycket förtjust. Piratboots från Vivienne Westwood, solglas från Karen Walker och vintage örhängen, köpta på ebay.

På väg hem från stan passade jag på att plåta lite, den (i mitt tycke) vackra konstruktionen som utgör gamla Lidingöbron inte minst.


Translation:
I brought my wellies and an umbrella in Maxine´s pram today since we´ve had crazy weather for a couple of days (one second the sun is shining, the next it´s pouring down, sometimes both at once), and left the loft for a real long walk. The first this week, since the pain in my back has returned (the necessary ones to walk the dog and to see my naprapath therapist not included).
Well, it was a happy moment so I dressed up accordingly. Matching jacket and tight little number from Roseanna, t-shirt underneath from The Local Firm. Not the least practical since I´m breast feeding, but hey, it was worth the hazzle. Love the look.
Also wearing pirates from Vivienne Westwood, shades from Karen Walker and vintage earrings found on ebay.

I snapped some pics on my way home, not the least of the (in my opinion) beautiful construction of the old bridge to Lidingö.

En av de vackraste bilder jag vet är denna av Guy Bourdin för franska Vogue 1978. Den sitter till och med inramad på en vägg i min walk-in closet, jag blir glad varje gång jag ser den. Har samlat ihop flera favoriterbilder där i udda antika ramar, man kan aldrig omge sig med för många inspirationsbilder... Härligt.

Men åter till denna. Hon dansade omöjligen till den fabulösa Prince-låten nedan (eftersom den släpptes året efter), men jag sitter och diggar den i skrivande stund, så den får äran att ackompanjera aftonens inlägg. I Wanna Be Your Lover. Fredagsstämning, bästa sortens!

One of the most beautiful pictures I know is this one by Guy Bourdin, for French Vogue 1978. I framed it for one of the walls in my walk-in closet as well, I get positive energy each time I see it. I have started to fill my antique frames with other images I find inspirational too, one can never have too many of those...

But back to this one. She was certainly not dancing to this fantastic Prince-song (since it was released the year after), but I am listening to it right now, so get your funk out! I Wanna Be Your Lover. Superb Friday night soundtrack.

Typ jag ju! En av mina höstfavoriter är en lång, vid och storrutig Vivienne Westwood-kappa, med en liten mindre hund bara, hähä.

I do this version pretty good too! One of my all-time autumn fav´s is a long, wide and checked coat from Vivienne Westwood. I team mine with a smaller dog though.

HELLO PREEN SPRING/SUMMER DREAM

Halleluja. Jag tillber Preen-gudarna Justin Thornton och Thea Bregazzi som just visade SS11 i New York. Den här klänningen får mitt hjärta att slå kullerbyttor, och mina överarmar att snegla efter hantlar, ha ha ha. Det känns som om de senare måste få sig en rejäl omgång inför nästa vår och sommar, så jag skulle kunna svassa omkring i denna och bara vara sommarfab...

Förutom Preen Line så köper vi ju en del Preen main line också i vår eminenta butik, och det känns som om den här klänningen redan har tagit sig in på ordersedeln i Paris i oktober.
