Head designer Errolson Hugh introduces Stone Island Shadow collection for the upcoming FW '011'012 season. He lends himself to be the hero of this video introducing us to the PARSEQ GRID, the performance system at the base of the Shadow Project since its inception and the FW collection pieces, explaining concepts/design/technical features/functionalities, all thought for a perfect symbiosis between item, environment and wearer.
A selection of this seasons collection is available online and in-store.

There is no secret that we at Nitty Gritty like boots. Red Wing Moc Toes, Alden 405s, Yuketen Maine Guide, Lundhags Park, Tricker’s brouge… and of course, the beautiful hand made Italian hiking boots from Diemme. This season they introduced a new style, the Firenze. A plain toe suede boot with a light weight white Vibram Wedge Sole. We decided to team up and produce our own colour way.
With a look that reminds us of everything from a classic Timberland and Red Wing to the super modern Virgil-Folk from Visvim it combines classic aesthetics and functionality together with the foot comfort and weight of a trainer, the Diemme X Nitty Gritty -Special Edition Firenze Boot is born.
This season, we welcome the amazing designs from Anne-Valérie Hash to Nitty Gritty, including the much sought after AVHASHBY line.
In just a couple of seasons it´s earned a superb reputation and such great timing for us when the Fashion House of Anne-Valérie Hash now is presenting it´s first fashion film. What a great way to show what´s soon in store for you!
It´s their vision of the Parisian girl of today, capturing the grace, taste, impertinence and energy of the AVHASHBY woman.
Enjoy.

We had such lovely summer sun in Stockholm yesterday. In late August, summer season´s almost over here. It rarely gets over 20 degrees Celcius, but the sun went all in and released some major light. It wasn´t super hot, but still, what a day!
Store Manager Maria and I were in meetings all day, took nice walks between them and had great lunch at Riche, feat. some nice wine. And at our buying appointment with Dagmar later in the afternoon, we were served Champagne. Great eat, drink, fashion, fun and sun. Did I say it was a lovely day? Well it was. I´m telling you now. Ha ha.

Maria in her new jacket and skirt from Isabel Marant Etoile and Jerome Dreyfuss CARLOS bag (in store now), pink silk tank from Heimstone, sunglasses by Karen Walker and old ballerinas.

Me enjoying some of that light. In same old, same old Helmut Lang trench / jacket, Helmut Lang sheer knitted sweater (in store now), trousers from Sharon Wauchob, MOMO bag by Jerome Dreyfuss (in store now) and vintage shoes and bangles. And when I looked up, it was massive green and bright. Perhaps the most beautiful building in town right about now? Location Karlavägen.

And me too was wearing shades by Karen Walker, these milk chocolate brown hotties are also in store now.

And while writing this post, this is tonight´s soundtrack; Lou Donaldson. I must admit I don´t know much about jazz, other than that I really like it a lot when I´m in the right mood. Enjoy.

44499_ICE JACKET_THERMOCHROMATIC FABRIC
Field Jacket in a light cotton canvas with a thermo-chromatic water and wind resistant coating that changes colour according to variations in temperature. Pockets with diagonal flap and hidden snap fastening. Patch pocket on chest with wind proof flap opening. Adjustable snaps at cuffs. Collar hiding a foldable hood. Hidden zip and button fastening. Detachable lining in padded and quilted run-proof nylon mesh. Raised collar lined in felt with the application of two parallel tubular tapes. Snap fastening.
Stop the press! Bon Iver & James Blake’s collaboration is now up on YouTube.
It’s nothing shocking! It’s exactly what I imagined it would sound like with lots of choirs in auto-tune, off beats and off course extremely beautiful.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
If you have any question or complaints don’t hesitate to contact me at eric@nittygritty.se
Sporting new Chloé jodhpurs today (in store now). Best classics ever for every day, and every night.
And speaking of classics, the shirt I´m wearing is Hope. It´s a dusty dark pink Coppola shirt and it´s perfect too! We don´t have it at Nitty Gritty, but I still feel I need to tell you. Watch the picture slide and you´ll get a better look at it. And the shoes. And Gustav (G-dawg).

This post is dedicated to Emilia, who e-mailed me and asked for a couple of paintings with hearts she once saw on my blog some years ago (when I was still writing Fashion Affair at the department store PUB). The picture wall in question was my own, but we moved house since, so I thought it´s a good time to share an updated version.
So here it is, now in our bedroom, since that´s the only room with proper high walls (we live in a loft so there´s sloping ceilings just about everywhere else).

The big one on the top is my personal favourite, it´s scraped and painted directly on wood by artist Niels Jensen. Another piece that has a very special place with me is a lithography by Baertling, the one with bright and bold colours in triangles. I inherited it from my paternal grandmother and grandfather. The rest of my family absolutely hated it, lucky me!
I also inherited some oil paintings from my late mother (the flower down below and the abstract face just by the lamp to the right), and I treasure these immensely too.

Zooming in on the hearts (below), the artist´s name is Gerhard Blum, and he´s indeed famous for his kings and queens paintings, they´re his signature. Ours are copied from copper plate and then painted on by hand.

You can buy his book Love/Crazy here. If you would like to get in contact with Gerhard directly, just send me an e-mail and I´ll forward it to him.

Yesterday was full of love. We had such a beautiful time at Christopher and Johanna´s´wedding. And that very still water, when it was all pitch black around midnight we had a sauna and a swim in it. Amazing to say the least. Wedding parties are just the best!

Bride and bridesmaids were dressed in super cute fifties style and the hairdo´s were sooo pretty.

True love.

Table decoration of artichoke, broccoli, onions and leaves, wow.
I went for my new Helmut Lang dress, but wore not so glamourous Bean Boots along with it since the rain was coming and going during the day, and we were mostly outdoors. Silver earrings and bracelet by Lara Bohinc, mixed with a vintage bracelet I bought for myself as a special gift when expecting Maxine. Can´t wait to wear this dress again, but with heels next time. And I can´t wait to go to another wedding party either! But hey, next one´s gonna be my own actually... Me and the baby daddy are getting married in September! Woop woop!

We are very proud to announce that you find Swedish label Dagmar at Nitty Gritty again this season. The autumn/winter deliveries are just arriving, so make sure you stop by soon! The collection is fantastic, and now Dagmar just received the prestigeous award Guldknappen by Damernas Värld.

The jury´s motivation (translated from Swedish):
The winner of Guldknappen the year 2011 reaches out to a generation of influential women, who values quality and longevity - without ever getting dull.
From a cardigan inspired by their beloved late grandmother, they have managed to create whole collections, and with great success in Sweden they´re now ready to conquer the world. The jury is also impressed how they have combined ethical thinking for the environment in production and still managed to maintain such a fashionable product.
The winner of the 30th Guldknappen is Dagmar, a modern company for the contemporary woman in the know.
Congratulations and celebrations! You are so worth it.

PS. Grandma´s name was Dagmar, so the brand is a tribute to her and the inspiration she was to Karin, Kristina and Sofia, the sibling trio that founded and run the label.
