ANGELA TAKES A STROLL

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 31st, 2011

Just a great pic with a great silhouette for y´all, the fantastic Angela Lindvall by Patrick Demarchelier for Harper´s Bazaar in 2001.

And speaking of absolutely nothing, try to say this out loud, rapidly:

She sells sea shells on the sea shore

It´s a challenge, no?

THE LOOK OF A MONDAY

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 31st, 2011

Cecilia Steiner

Another day, another dollar, another outfit.

Wearing super wide wool trousers by Minimarket and Isabel Marant knitted pullover.
My fourth winter with these pants now, I really love them. Just the second season with the sweater, but it´s a keeper too. The texture, with the little minature pom pom balls all over, is adorable.

Same old heels from Whyred as I was wearing on Saturday. They´re super comfy!

MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 30th, 2011

I made an effort on Saturday to let the Jil Sander boots rest. Wore tall and wide Jil Sander Navy trousers instead, teamed with a Karin Malm striped silk slip dress, A.P.C. fine belt in burgundy (all in store now). Black top underneath by Hope and shoes by Whyred, both from past seasons, and vintage jewelry.

STORE SNAPSHOTS

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 28th, 2011

Ok, so I am aware of the fact that it´s good for the feet and the shoes not to be wearing the same ones every day... But I just can´t help myself. Dark green flat boots by Jil Sander just arrived earlier this week and I don´t want to wear a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g else! On my fourth day straight now...

Here are some snapshots of the boots in question (me included) and images from the store, feat. our house dog Gustav too. Enjoy!

These are the wedges that make all other wedges feel ashamed of themselves, he he. Killers straight from the Jil Sander catwalk!

THE boots. Gosh, they know how to make footwear, the folks over at Jil Sander. These glossy pumps below sure are perfection, too!

I´m also wearing knitted tunic and knitted pencil skirt with holes by 1-10 Sharon Wauchob, vintage bangles, and earrings of my own design.

Now it´s time for blueberry pie! Have a good Friday night y´all.

EERIE MECHANICAL FASHION DOLLS

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 27th, 2011

Wow, have a look at these stunning (and admittedly a bit scary) photos by Tim Walker, modelled by Audrey Marnay and Kirsi Pyronen, for the October issue of Vogue Italia:

And then watch the film. Uh-mazing.

The work that has been put in to this production, so impressive... And the model casting is p-e-r-f-e-c-t. Fashion by Jacob K.

If film will be removed from YouTube, you find the whole story here.

Nitty Gritty Music - John Peel Day

Author: Eric Posted: October 25th, 2011

A year after John died the BBC created John Peel Day and it became an annual event, well for two more years… But the Peel Day didn’t stop just because the Beeb (once again) gave up…

Venues all over Europe still wanted to continue because it commemorated one of the most influential DJ’s, but especially because it gave up and coming bands an opportunity to perform. Thus keeping the spirit of Peel alive. (source: keepingitpeel.wordpress.com)

I did my part and made a John peel spotify list. Enjoy.

IN THE MORNING MIST

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 25th, 2011

Just outside our house (no, not that one) on my way to work today, in the most wonderful luminous morning mist.

Cecilia Steiner

Lidingö, Stockholm

Wearing the furry Swiss Cap by Anthony Peto that I love so much, and my precious little MOMO python bag by Jerome Dreyfuss. Coat is an old Vivienne Westwood that I will wear forever and ever, and last but not least a giant scarf with metal buttons by Sharon Wauchob (also an old favourite).

DANISH DELIGHT

Author: Cecilia Posted: October 20th, 2011

Grit girls! New arrivals in store this week:

Line and Jo at Nitty Gritty Stockholm

Danish goldsmiths Line Hallberg and Jo-Riis Hansen founded their label Line&Jo in 2007. Now, just a few years later, customers worldwide go wild on their designs (myself included!). We are very happy to announce that we as of today have their beautiful jewelry in store for you. The long, super thin chain earring with a feather is so beautiful, and we naturally have the matching ring, among other little treasures... All in Sterling Silver or 18K gold.

And for the coming cold months we just received our autumn/winter order of Danish knitwear masters S.N.S. Herning (established in 1931), which our male customers have already enjoyed for years at Nitty Gritty. Pure wool qualities and great clean shapes await you now, as Nitty Gritty is currently the exclusive stockist of their womenswear in Sweden.
