I wish I had about eight arms and could function on five hours sleep a night, but no. That´s why this poor blog hasn´t gotten enough time and affection lately. Deliveries are now pouring in (A.P.C.! Isabel Marant! AVHASHBY! Helmut Lang!), Stockholm Fashion Week is taking place right this minute, and Copenhagen´s dito is coming up this week too... We will also soon present Grit Girl Shoot #2, which we shot on Saturday. Good times, but busy times!
I´m soon off to see the catwalk show of The Local Firm and tonight we have a party with Molami at Riche, but first some of my pics from BACK´s show yesterday. Best Fashion Week coverage are found here and here though. C´est Bon!

The entrance at Konstakademien at Fredsgatan 12

Waiting for the presentation, it was a beautiful day

My favourite dress, the one with the large open zipper in back

And I looove bare shoulders, it´s so sensual and beautiful. Not a collection easily worn though, at least not for me personally, it was a bit chaotic at times. But she´s without a doubt a master of cutting, I saw an incredibly cool coat that didn´t end up on my photos unfortunately. I was probably too busy admiring it...

We continued on in our search for the real deal in menswear for next A/W 2012.
Paris next and we always enjoy coming back to the city of love. We come here to visit tradeshows, to attend runway shows, to go to a bunch of showrooms and to eat a duck leg or two.
From Paris we buy among others, Visvim, Adam Kimmel and A.P.C. We always stay at Andres place up in the 9th and we always go to number 13 on Rue de Charonne for a proper Chateaubriand with all the right belongings.
Sometimes we go partying and stay out late at night, Le Pompon is a favourite.
Sometimes we just stay in the hotel and hang out with the staff after they finish their workday. They are so nice, sometimes they give us drinks and let us smoke inside. But most of the time, we just run around looking for a free taxi. That's a challenge. Sometimes we take the Metro. That’s easier. We love Paris.

Our buying season always kick off with an always inspiring week at the numero Uno trade show in men's fashion, Pitti Uomo in lovely Florence. This year was no exception.
What makes Pitti so unique is the total cover of the whole menswear fashion scene. You have everything divided in different areas and buildings depending up on what segment your brand belongs to.
We've got the L´Altra Uomo space where you find brands like Nigel Cabourn, TS(S), Diemme, Ten C, Gitman Vintage among our Swedish friends Our Legacy and Uniforms for the Dedicated.
In the Touch Area you can pick up treats from brands like Yuketen, Want Les Essentials de la Vie, Post Overalls, Barena and the White Briefs.
But the heart of Pitti is of course Padiglione Centrale, a huge three floors building where it's quite easy to get lost between all the silk and cashmere from Belvest, Kiton, Corneliani, Zegna, Brunello Cucinelli... well pretty much everyone that makes slick, expensive and made by hand tailoring or accessories.
Part from all the beautiful clothing we see we sure enjoy a proper Italian pasta, a glass of Chianti and maybe, for the special occasions, a glass of Prosecco. For cocktails, the place to be is Harry's bar. The dry martini's they do over there… Oh mama!
Arividerchi!

Rimshots, slick high hats, new strings on the bass, smooth voice. Tonight D’angelo is playing at filadelfiakyrkan in Stockholm. I never seen him before, I missed the concert he did some years ago and everybody talks about at circus.
Hopefully this one will as legendary.
It’s hard to make a best of d’ angelo songs because they are all good, but I did one anyway.

Paris, round two; staircases and hallways as usual (I´m obviously obsessed with them), and now also featuring old mirrors!

A beautiful Parisian passage:

After our appointment with Helmut Lang we had a late breakfast at CLAUS (which could easily have been the best breakfast including omelette I´ve ever had in Paris, you must go there!) - and while looking out the window from the second floor of the intimate place of CLAUS, there was a Stone Island pullover hanging in the window right opposite to us. We felt at home.

And now, back at the hotel, we´re just about to dig into some nice looking dessert feat. fruit salad and chocolate mousse... Gotta love room service.

Paris life is good. So sad to say there won´t be another round until March, but in between we´ll do buying trips to both Copenhagen and Milan! Not bad, not bad. And the collections so far... OH MY. One can always tell on the number of personal orders... Wowsa!

We´re now comfortably checked in at one of our favourite hotels in Paris, Hotel Amour in Montmartre, which has quite a few unique interior details. Here´s an old hockey game from the basement loo, matching walls and roof in room 304 and ceiling artwork in room 403:

So yeah, what´s up?

Long time no see here on the blog, I´ve had some time off and took the family to visit friends in Dubai.
We´ve been hanging around in the Arabian desert during sunset, we´ve seen beautiful fish en masse (aquarium style), done some shopping at the largest mall in the world, we´ve had afternoon tea on the 122nd floor... Burj Khalifa is 800+ metres folks, the tallest building in the world. I´m scared of heights but I just had to do it, and boy was it worth it! The scones were superb and the view, priceless.
Pictures here:

It was lovely to visit our dear friends and this last pic is the view from their balcony where we enjoyed a few nice dinners. Dubai is a seriously surreal place though, and it´s hard to imagine almost all of it has been built in the last ten years or so. Before, there was sand, and sand, and more sand.
Now, I´m off for Paris for three days, ordering Isabel Marant, Helmut Lang and A.P.C for next season. So excited, as always! Stay tuned for some Paris chic, coming up shortly.

Yesterday I saw the brilliant documentary the interrupters by Steve James.
Far from the neighborhood in Chicago I had been in.
It’s about old convicts that has started a group that calls them selves “seize fire “and they are medaling between gangs, and try to make them to walk away instead of shooting each other.

This made me think of even more brilliant show, The Wire. The documentary is really like the first and third season of the wire.
