I promised a blog post of their own of the pumps I wore the other day, so here comes; one of the most beautiful pair I´ve ever laid my eyes on! Grey leather and silver thread gathered snake heel in a soft green and dusty beige... It was love at first sight.

They´re vintage Cesare Martinoli and my husband bought them for me from eBay (after strict instructions from his wife that he should do so, including a link to the auction and everything, ha ha). No need to mention I´m happily married, right?

I´m a sucker for textures. On pillows, blankets, curtains, clothes, shoes and even plants and art work - you name it, I dig it. Today, I got my fair share from a loosely knitted Helmut Lang sweater and a pair of woven leather shoes by Jil Sander Navy (both in store now).

Some textured parts of my home:

A carved wood painting

My favourite blanket

Bubbly pillow

A beautiful hanging plant in our bedroom

Like a lava landscape painting

An oil painting with very generous strokes
And don´t even get me started on shadow play...

But speaking of, (I can´t help myself, he he) when I co-owned and ran Le Shop Stockholm some years ago, we had such beautiful dresses in store by designer Sarah Törnqvist. There´s one in particular I have in mind that had a print of shadows from window blinds. I think this style is nothing but amazing even now, five years later.
Here, some stills from her collection film Gap, directed by Igor Zimmermann (2007):

And the dress, photo by Marcus Palmqvist:

Love.
Over and out, good night!

My days off are most rewarding when small projects are involved, here´s today´s do-it-yourself:

So what´s this? Well, our kitchen tiles are ok, white and plain, but some schmuck once decided it was a good idea to include a few still life ones, which I have a hard time coping with. This place was a rental just up to last month, which means you´re not allowed to change this kind of stuff. So a few years ago, I bought a book with photographs by artist Carl Johan de Geer, scanned my favourites and printed them on self-adhesive photo paper. Then cut and paste!
This rather simple procedure lasted for a couple of years, way over expectation. So, I thought, why change a winning concept? And just reprised it but changed two out of four images. This will probably last for at least another year then, which is sooo great since we don´t have enough cash to revamp the whole place right now, we´ll start off with one of the bathrooms, and repairing the kitchen floor.

The worn down houses are poetic and beautiful, and I l-o-v-e the young woman taking a bath in the sink. And the family in the car with the kids in the back reading adult magazines... Real life documentary beauty.
Amazing photographs, I will never ever get tired of looking at them.
Another very dear part of my home is this little installation of cast iron monkeys, they´re also hanging around in the kitchen:

Aren´t they the cutest? I inherited them from my mum and it´s a nice way to be reminded of her each morning. They always get me in a good mood.

How to cheer up November: wallpaper by Minimoderns for my baby girl´s own room, which is currently under d-i-y construction. (This striped wallpaper pattern is called different strokes, it´s pear green and absolutely wonderful):

And then heavenly editorials like this from Self Service (autumn/winter 2011/12 issue). Love, love, love the glamourous late seventies feel of it... And the colours! Sharing is caring, so enjoy:

To ride to work in public transportation, on the old Lidingöbanan train, is just such a terrific start of the day. Especially on a day like this, grey November morning turns golden, yay!
Watch the picture slideshow to see more pics along the way, and over the bridge. It´s so pretty.

Just outside our house (no, not that one) on my way to work today, in the most wonderful luminous morning mist.

Wearing the furry Swiss Cap by Anthony Peto that I love so much, and my precious little MOMO python bag by Jerome Dreyfuss. Coat is an old Vivienne Westwood that I will wear forever and ever, and last but not least a giant scarf with metal buttons by Sharon Wauchob (also an old favourite).

I had visitors at home the other week, a Swedish fashion magazine wanted to dig deep in my walk-in-closet, and I let them. I´ve gathered so much fun stuff over the years, why not share some of the joy? The result can be seen in print in early October, watch this space. (I´ll scan and post it here, of course.) They also took some photos of my outfits, and I can post this one already now since it´s one of the left overs, a pic that wasn´t included in the final selection (and I´m glad, that light is doing something with my nose, it looks totally weird, ha ha!):

But the pencil skirt is sooo great, my new partner in crime. It´s knitted with holes from 1-10 Sharon Wauchob, and in store now. Also wearing vintage shoes in burgundy suede, chunky vintage copper blend bangles, mustard coloured knitted pullover from Isabel Marant Etoile (from last autumn/winter season), brown t-shirt by The Local Firm and stockings by Falke. A good autumn colour palette.

The answer is the newest addition to our shoe selection in Nitty Gritty this season, these comfortable beauties by Jil Sander! Ever since ordering them in Paris in March, I´ve been eagerly awaiting their arrival. Welcome home, kittens.

And the whole lot from today, outfit-wise:

Notice the most amazing cardigan jacket in pure virgin wool by Harris Wharf? That´s another love story (continued below). So is the antique palm tree lamp (and I´m not that tiny, the thing is 240 centimeters high or so, ha ha). And apart from being just the most amazing piece, it kind of cures my winter depression. Having a palm tree in the living room during the freezing darkest days is actually helping, for real. I´ve had it for about four years now and it will be with me ´til the day I die.) (Not too soon, I hope. I want to enjoy it a while longer, thank you very much.)

Nice one, no? I love the shorter sleeves, but the edges are raw so if one wants them even shorter, it´s easily fixed with a pair of scissors.
And what else, vintage silver bracelet, earrings by Lara Bohinc, faded top by Sharon Wauchob and trousers by Isabel Marant Etoile (from last winter).

What happened here? Heavy wind or baby girl? Hmmm.
