I wish I had about eight arms and could function on five hours sleep a night, but no. That´s why this poor blog hasn´t gotten enough time and affection lately. Deliveries are now pouring in (A.P.C.! Isabel Marant! AVHASHBY! Helmut Lang!), Stockholm Fashion Week is taking place right this minute, and Copenhagen´s dito is coming up this week too... We will also soon present Grit Girl Shoot #2, which we shot on Saturday. Good times, but busy times!
I´m soon off to see the catwalk show of The Local Firm and tonight we have a party with Molami at Riche, but first some of my pics from BACK´s show yesterday. Best Fashion Week coverage are found here and here though. C´est Bon!

The entrance at Konstakademien at Fredsgatan 12

Waiting for the presentation, it was a beautiful day

My favourite dress, the one with the large open zipper in back

And I looove bare shoulders, it´s so sensual and beautiful. Not a collection easily worn though, at least not for me personally, it was a bit chaotic at times. But she´s without a doubt a master of cutting, I saw an incredibly cool coat that didn´t end up on my photos unfortunately. I was probably too busy admiring it...

Rebel, rebel? Well, maybe not so rebellious anymore since we´ve seen it numerous times before; re-makes of David Bowies looks throughout his career (with emphasis on his earlier years, Kate Moss for Vogue Paris just recently, for example).
But this time around, it´s the haute couture patron, Guinness family heiress, modern icon and the late Alexander McQueen´s best friend Daphne Guinness giving it a go for German Vogue, lensed by Bryan Adams (yes, that Bryan):

Left, sequined dress by Dolce & Gabbana, make-up by Daphne Guinness for MAC. Right, velvet jacket by Marc by Marc Jacobs, fake fur collar by Versace, brooch by Bottega Veneta, platforms by Natacha Marro (leggings, private)

Glittering leather piece by Gareth Pugh, collar by Sonia Rykiel, (brooch in eye, private)

Patterned cape by Akris
I kind of like these four images, especially the middle one, and I can´t help being curious of this woman. She has a very special personal style, to say the least. Always spectacular. And does Bowie really well!

...And not to mention, Bowie is a huge personal favourite artist/person of mine. I just realized my old blog, filled with goodies and among them some great Bowie images, has gone in to a black hole in cyber space. This means I can do some serious re-posting, he he! Stay tuned.
Behind the scenes at the fantastic Lydmar Hotel on Friday, we did our first ever inspiration shoot for all the true grit girls out there. We decided it´s about time we flaunt our exceptional stuff out and about, all over town, taking it one step further from the clean product shots in our webshop. Like a mini-editorial exclusively for Nitty Gritty!
Here´s the whole team:

Wowsa! I got hauled in to this editorial with this image, model Ilva Heitmann sporting Jil Sander:

Nice one. And the setting, all angular and wet. J´adore.
Continued, feat. more graphic shapes and great outerwear and knits:

And not to mention this coat, by A.P.C. and in store now:

How to cheer up November: wallpaper by Minimoderns for my baby girl´s own room, which is currently under d-i-y construction. (This striped wallpaper pattern is called different strokes, it´s pear green and absolutely wonderful):

And then heavenly editorials like this from Self Service (autumn/winter 2011/12 issue). Love, love, love the glamourous late seventies feel of it... And the colours! Sharing is caring, so enjoy:

Just saw this incredible editorial styled by Gisela Rydberg and beautifully photographed by Elisabeth Frang. Some of the pieces chosen for this raw yet sensual androgynous ed are from Nitty Gritty, so I contributed in a very small way too by lending our stuff out, he he.
Enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful moodboard at the Anne Valerie Hash site right now:

It feels like this to wear her clothes, sort of. If I would try to put words on it... Special. Sensual. Powerful. Peaceful. Dreamy. Sharp. And if you want to feel it hands on too, come hither. We have both AVHASHBY and Anne Valerie Hash main line in store now, and the later also in our webshop as of today, looking lovely. Just for you.

More awards! None other than Meryl Streep sported Rodebjer at a very special event a couple of days ago, where Vanessa Redgrave was saluted for her “consistently brilliant 50-year career” by other actors (such as Streep), as she was given a tribute by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

Congrats to both Vanessa Redgrave and Carin Rodebjer, and to Meryl Streep for the excellent choice of dress! She sure does look fantastic in it. May I add that we have one of these gorgeous tops/dresses left in store at Nitty Gritty? It´s a size S, will fit both small and medium sized grit girls, and in the grey/blue-shade instead of bright red:

Stumbled upon this ad from the first half of the 90´s, looks like Amber Valletta is the one showing some flesh for Jil Sander:

Now those pants look interesting, they get this week´s award! I´m being serious here, would just style them a bit differently, with less navel. But they look totally cool; wide-legged and shiny.
I´m intrigued..!
Would love to see more.
Would love to see them hanging in my wardrobe.
Oh well. Dream on...

Grit girls, tomorrow night at 1800hrs, BOOM!
MOLAMI makes its grand debut in Sweden, right here at Nitty Gritty (and at the same time launched in our webshop).
Their magic vision of sound through silk, leather, suede and stingray is so inspirational, and until we show you the real deal, I´ll share some dear pictures that speaks of Molami to me.
It´s a mix of photos from the last four decades, mainly by Peter Lindbergh and Paolo Roversi, two of my favourite photographers. Here united with MOLAMI´s beautiful flowy fabric and leather pictures.
So, enjoy this small tribute and stay tuned for tomorrow night!

Now enter a world where sound is wearable.
