I will have four wonderful weeks off with my baby girl starting now.

We will...

celebrate her first birthday (Marilyn Monroe)

prepare great meals (Wanda Hendrix)
have picnics (Sophia Loren)
be silly and laugh a lot (Pier Angeli)
read bedtime stories (Yvonne DeCarlo)
and I will carry her around and cuddle like crazy (Raquel Torres)

So I wave bye bye for a little while.



I´ll make a few posts meanwhile, but most of all, I´m gonna hang out with my precious baby girl. Love.

MINIATURE CLASSIC

Took a drive up north again today to leave Gustav at the dog sitter´s since we leave for Paris (yay!) later this coming week. To my big joy, there´s quite a few antique stops along the way. Look at this little vintage Chesterfield armchair, how cute? It would´ve been perfect for Maxine, but hey, 5000 Swedish Kroner was a bit heavy right now for something that´s not really necessary. Damn. Love was in the air though.

IT WASN´T MEANT TO BE, ELSA AND ME

Åh nej. Ett avbokat Schiaparelli-köp. Hatten var redan såld sedan länge och hade lagts upp igen av misstag. Vad är oddsen? Har aldrig hänt mig tidigare på ebay, på sex år. Suck. Får hoppas på tredje gången gillt så småningom (se föregående inlägg). Men här är den så, hatten som fick mig på fall. Visst är den tjusig?

Translation:
Oh no. I can´t believe it. No Schiaparelli hat for me this time either (see previous post). It was already sold and the seller could not understand how it was listed again. Me neither... What are the odds? Damn it! But hey, here it is anyway. Just so you know what I missed. Gorgeous, isn´t it?

HAT LOVER HEAVEN

En fjäder i hatten, någon?
Jag satt och slösurfade på ebay och av någon outgrundlig anledning blev min sökning efter vintage Yves Saint Laurent istället Elsa Schiaparelli, och vips så halkade jag helt oplanerat in på hattar. Den här ebay-säljaren har alla skönheterna som är inkluderade i bildspelet ovan, och nära på perfekt feedback score. Bara att shoppa loss!
Föll för övrigt för en otroligt vacker fjäderhatt av Schiaparelli på ebay för några år sedan också, och ångrar att jag inte slog till då. Om inte annat som prydnad, för den var inte helt lättburen, det ska erkännas. Den här gången gör jag inte om samma misstag. Det var ingen fjäderhatt, men desto mer användbar. Men jag suger på den bildkaramellen till dess den kommer hem till mig och förhoppningsvis sitter som en smäck. Så spännande det här blev nu då... Iiiih!

Translation:
I stumbled across vintage hat heaven on ebay just now, this seller has all the amazing hats in the picture slideshow above. I went for an Elsa Schiaparelli hat myself, I regret not buying a feathered one I found on ebay some years ago. This one is simpler and more wearable though, wish me luck for the fit and look! I´ll share pics once it´s here. How very exciting... Iiiih!

FOR ME

Idag är det min födelsedag! Firar mig själv med detta fina, man måste köpa minst en födelsedagspresent till sig själv nämligen (samma princip gäller för övrigt till jul, minst en egen julklapp). He he.
Det här otroligt vackra och snirkliga antika silverarmbandet såg jag i skyltfönstret hos Vasastans prinsessa på Odengatan för några veckor sedan och föll pladask. Det är lite stort för min handled egentligen, men blandat med ett par till armband så är det inget som stör. Jag har massor av armband som jag använder på ren vilja, och det här var alldeles för tjusigt för att inte få följa med hem till samlingen. Kolla in detaljarbetet, magnifikt handsmide... Jag skulle gissa att det är 1920/30-tal. Ja må jag leva!

Translation:
Happy birthday to me! I bought myself a gift, one always must buy at least one birthday gift for oneself (same goes for Christmas), ha ha.
I saw this incredibly beautiful antique silver bracelet in a display window of a vintage shop at Odenplan a few weeks ago and it was love at first sight. And even though it´s a bit big for me, it was a done deal. Way too fantastic not to take home, just look at the detailing. Hand made, I would guess in the 1920´s or 30´s. My precious.

VINTAGE ME

Jag och min mamma plåtade outfitbilder på varandra ute på höstängarna innan Jane från Sea of Shoes ens var påtänkt. Gammal är äldst och rött och rosa är jättefint ihop. Skämt åsido (det senare är i och för sig helt sant, se bara på Jil Sander våren 2011), har ni inte hälsat på hos Jane så gör det. Den unga amerikanskan skriver en av världens mest populära bloggar och Janes mamma är lika modeintresserad som sin dotter, och ibland plåtar de varandra. Utfärdar dock en varning i all välmening, är man skotokig som jag är det lätt hänt att man fastnar.

Önskar jag kunde spola tillbaka tiden så jag fick krama henne igen. Bara en gång till. Älskade mamma.

Translation:
Me and my mum took outfit posts in the beautiful Swedish autumn fields long before Jane from
Sea of Shoes was even considered. And pink and red look amazing together. True that, but if you haven´t visited Jane yet, you should definitely do so. The young American writes one of the most popular blogs in the world, her mother is just as fashionable and occasionally they do mother/daughter posts. Be warned though, if you have a thing for shoes, you might get stuck there for a while.

Misses and kisses to my beloved mother. I wish I could turn back time just to get to hug her again. One more time, that´s all I ask.

THAT DRESS

Vi var på bröllop i lördags (Sofie och Fredrik, TACK för att vi fick vara med och dela er väldigt speciella dag!), och jag bara måste få överösa bloggen med bilder på klänningen jag hade på mig. Jag tycker den är så ofattbart vacker nämligen... Vintage, sent sjuttiotal, via ebay.
Jag erkänner glatt att jag som ett tvättäkta shoppingfreak ställde klockan mitt i natten och gick upp och budade på den, för i och med att klänningens tidigare hemvist var USA, så är ju tidsskillnaden inte till ens fördel när man vill vinna auktioner som slutar under dagtid där. Det kallas snatching, man lägger helt enkelt sitt bud först i slutsekunderna av auktionen, och då ett riktigt högt sådant så att ingen hinner lägga ett nytt, ännu högre bud. Fult spel, men allt är tillåtet i krig och kärlek, eller hur? Men för att vinna gäller det ju förstås att man inte snålar, det kan ju faktiskt finnas fler som tänker likadant. Men som den ebay-kung (eller kanske drottning om man ska vara korrekt) jag är, så gick det ju alldeles galant. Min, bara min, för fyndpriset 112 dollar. He he. Mycket nöjd.

Klackarna kommer från Haider Ackermann, bältet Borba Margo, kuvertväskan i trä från Rocio, brett guldarmband köpt i Iran och de supersmala armbanden är sådana där tokbilliga som var poppis på åttiotalet, hittade ett gäng i London för några år sedan och köpte alla för ynka fem pund.

PS. Mitt stackars hår är inte slingat, det är solblekt och sjuuukt slitet. Klipptid på onsdag! Inte en dag för tidigt.

We were invited to a wedding on Saturday (thank you ever so much that we got to share your very special day, Sofie and Fredrik!), and I can´t resist to lavish on the dress I was wearing. I find it incredibly beautiful, you see... (And it was the first time in ages I got to play fancy dress-up!)
It´s a vintage dress, most certainly late seventies, found on ebay. After setting the alarm clock in the middle of the night like a real shopping freak, it was mine as planned. I seldom lose an auction, the trick is called snatching. It´s dirty play but everything is allowed in love and war, no?
This is how it works; you place a real high bid just seconds before the ebay auction ends, and then no one has the time to outbid you - unless some other freak places an even higher bid at the same time, that is... But if you really want something, you´re not cheap, right? I got this particular dress for 112 dollars, and I think that was a bargain, my maximum bid was a lot higher.

Heels from Haider Ackermann, belt Borba Margo, Rocio wooden clutch, gold bangle bought in Iran mixed with those cheap thin ones that were really popular in the eighties, I found a bunch for a mere five pounds in London a few years ago and bought the lot.

PS. My hair is dying to get a haircut, and the highlights are not intentional, but natural from summer sun. Oh well. I won´t colour it, but at least cut it, on Wednesday. It´s about time, to say the least...
