Is it the English discrimination or the French chic or maybe a combination of the two that makes a Drake product easy to define and point out? However, the constant dialogue between tradition and innovation has made Drakes ties and scarves a very sought after product around the globe that is available in diversified spots such as the Knize in Vienna (whose byword is more conservative than the Catholic Church), Nitty Gritty in Stockholm and the Dover Street Market in London. The ties are handmade in their own factory in east London and the scarves are made only by the finest silk, wool and cashmere out of exclusive, small factories across England and Scotland.

The new shipment of paisley, Fair Isle patterns, checks and tiger printed silk has just made its way to the Nitty Gritty store perfectly timed for the first real autumn chill. The leaves have started to let go of their branches and dancing through the air towards the wet pavements; days are getting shorter and nights longer.

Hopefully no one has missed our guests in the Nitty Gritty Showroom behind our menswear store. The highly appreciated and beautiful pink coloured El Taco Truck of Stockholm has opened their pop-up Taqueria and will serve Mexican Tacos made with love and the right spices. One who is always very inspired by the native Americana is Hiroki Nakamura - the creative force behind Visvim.

Taco truck is the house and we took liberty to shoot some Get The Grit pictures in their pop-up restaurant. I made a soundtrack for the occasion.

Recently Levi Palmer paid us a visit in the Grit Girl Store for a meet and a talk to the Nitty Gritty Crew about his and Matthew Harding’s new work with their self titled brand palmer//harding. We are always honoured when international designers come all the way up to our northern outpost of the world just to see us.

Like palmer//harding, we are also slightly obsessed with the traditional formal shirt for men. That's why we've tried to create the perfect custom shaped semi-formal shirt together with Italian shirt maker DelSiena. This season, like every season, they come in shades of white, grey and blue and classic shirt patterns such as striped and checkered.

Masafumi Watanabe is the mastermind behind our latest addition in our brand mix. Bedwin & the Heartbreakers is a Japanese street wear label founded in 2004. Their motto is Paramount Quality which is something we always aim for at Nitty when we search the globe for new and interesting brands that could make it into our stores.
