We took a day trip to London the other week to visit our friends at the PR and sales agency “A number of names”. Besides being a bunch of good looking, well dressed, proper pint loving men, they are also doing their best to promote such fine brands as Human Made, Bathing Ape, Bedwin and the Heartbreakers, Ebbets Field Flannels and a number of more names. One of these brands will be a part of the Nitty Gritty brand mix from next season. More info about that later on…
After a smashing Shepards pie and a local pale ale for lunch at the Albion we went to the Drake's showroom which is located above their shop at number 3 Clifford Street just off Savile Row. It a lovely little shop where you'll find their London made ties, Irish knits, Italian scarves and a small selection of well tailord coats and sport jackets.
Meetings done and still a few hours before the flight back to Stockholm we went to do some store checks and started at Libertys just to find that the Our Legacy boys managed to grab the best spot at the lower ground floor where the menswear are presented. Well done boys!
Off to Bloomsbury and the super nice little Lambs Conduit Street to say hi to the Universal Works guys, check out the Folk and the two Oliver Spencer shops and the Private v.c White shop. Proper Manchester produced jackets, outerwear and shoes.
London is really getting a lot of energy back and it feels very inspiring to be there, hopefully we'll be back soon for a number of more names…
The Bench - Evelina & Neal
When Neal from Cardiff travels abroad he usually google two things to find places he might fancy; craft beer and Stone Island. This time it took him all the way to Nitty Gritty, where he got himself a new knitted Stone Island Beanie.
The Bench - Nigel Cabourn
Military vintage clothing expert Nigel Cabourn recently visited Stockholm, invited by the Swedish Fashion Council, to give a speech about his passion for vintage, his design and his brand. He and his sales guy Drew came by the shop to say hi, and to play some table tennis in the Nitty Gritty showroom.
The Bench - Robert Levine
In November Robert Levine will turn 21. Robert, who originates from New York, has chosen to spend his last four months as a 20-year-old kid in Stockholm. One can wonder why, when all that Stockholmers around the same age want to do is to go and live in New York for a while, the place to be, where it all happens! One can only assume…
Neighborhood & WTAPS
With a history that extends almost as long as Nitty Gritty’s, The two Japanese brands Neighborhood and WTAPS have been in the top segment of streetwear ever since they saw the light of day in the mid 90’s. Tetsu Nishiyama, or TET as his signature, became a pioneer of Tokyo’s young and vibrant Harajuku districts fashion scene when he started a few brands in the early 90’s. About the same time, motorcycle enthusiast Shinsuke Takizawa wanted to bring about a brand that could express the lifestyle that Shinsuke and his friends were devoted to.
The Bench - Hugo Mills
With a family name like Mills, it seems plausible that you end up working in the clothing industry. Hugo Mills takes care of the international sales for Nitty Gritty staff favourite Margaret Howell.

Know Your Coats
Since it’s autumn and everybody seems to want a new coat we thought that we might as well give you some background information about the different kind of coats that Nitty Gritty offer this season.
The Bench - Lars Röhne
This is Lars Röhne, Stockholm resident, ex elite marathon runner and passionate mountaineer. When visiting the Nitty Gritty mens store Lars just got back from a rock climbing trip in Greece, hence the very un Stockholm autumn tan.
The Bench - Kristian Pohl
It's not an understatement to say that Kristian Pohl is a talented and successful photographer. He has worked with a wide range of customers such as Regeringskansliet, Red Cross and many of Sweden's biggest magazines. He is also one of our regulars and most well dressed customers
The Bench - Paulina Liffner
This is Paulina Liffner von Sydow, the Swedish bag- and accessory designer that in a very short time has become the favourite among a number of style icons in Stockholm. When she came by the Nitty Gritty head office the other day to show her next collection for our buying team, we kindly asked her to strike a pose at `The Bench´ for us. Because in our concerns, she´s just as stylish as the fashionable crowd that so highly appreciate her bags.
The Bench - Oscar Richt
If you are getting away with a look that is some kind of a cross over between 70´s porn star and Jude Laws character Dickie Greenleaf from The Talented Mr Ripley, you definitely got some sense of style.
Spalwart, A.T.P. & Little Liffner
Just in between the menswear international fashion weeks and trade shows and the up and coming international women’s shows in Paris and London, Sweden manages to squeeze in a kind of fashion week as well. It’s not something that Nitty Gritty in particular is a part of, and as you know, we don’t work with that many Swedish brands. Main reason for that is that we first and foremost try to offer a unique mix of brands for our home market, and since most Swedish multibrand stores offer a big selection of Swedish and Scandinavian brands, we try to do it differently. We do like our fellow Swedish business colleagues, and have the greatest respect for their work, and some of them have made it into the Nitty Gritty concept.
The Bench – Idil Omar
Idil Omar is one of our locals. She lives nearby the Nitty Gritty Stores and became a regular when she moved to Stockholm 5 years ago from the south of Sweden. This hot and steamy Tuesday, properly dressed out due to the weather circumstances, she paid us a visit for some inspiration and autumn `New Arrivals´ for herself and also to find a birthday gift for a friend...
The Bench - Mr. Andrew Spiers
This is Andrew Spiers, we've known him for some time now. He represents Drakes, Johnstons Cashmere and Sanders on the Scandinavian market. Andrew is a true English gentleman who moved to Sweden many years ago for two reasons alone, love for a girl and the fact that Pubs are open late...
