Adam Kimmel

New York based menswear designer Mr Adam Kimmel. Kimmel dropped out of his architecture studies in 2002 and started his own fashion brand that same year. He designs fashionable but masculine, American classics with some roughness but always in materials as soft as possible. Comfy cashmere sweaters, slouchy jackets and unconstructed blazers are always in the collection, though presented in different shades for every season. This upcoming fall it´s in the shady light of a casino. The casino collection was presented together with American contemporary visual artist George Condo who did produce some of his signature masks for the fashion event held in Paris.
Condo is known for his fine exhibitions in places like MoMA , the Whitney Museum and Guggenheim all in New York, Tate Modern in London and Ministere de la Culture in Paris. Recently he finished another interesting collaboration when he created some artwork for Kanye Wests single, ”Power”.

Kimmel's philosophy is to continue to look at the brand as a venture for himself and his friends. "I try to discover pockets of American culture that resonate with my contemporaries and keep it as personal as I can. If the '90s were about minimalism, the future is about the personal touch," he says.

Kimmel is known for using different male muses in his work and for his fall/winter 2011 main collection he went and hung out with artist Dan Attoe up in the midst of the wild landscape of Portland, Oregon. Attoe not only gave Kimmel inspiration for his collection, they actually created some pieces together, like the eagle scarf and a forest knit.
