Woolrich Woolen Mills
The Town of Woolrich is situated in Pennsylvania, America. Around 1830 the mill industry started to make its presence known in Woolrich and soon became the sole work provider for the larger portion of its inhabitants. The Mills produced durable fabrics which where used for different kinds of work wear for the likes of fishermen, miners, lumberjacks, railroad track workers and so on.
The Woolrich Woolen Mills project originates from the desire to create unique items for their simplicity and authenticity, to give way to a different dress style that interprets the need of those who don´t need to be noticed, and so are attracted by the “silent exclusivity” of the clothes. Today the brand is divided into different subcategories. One category consists of the more everyday casual collection for a wider market and the other, the Woolen Mills collection, has tried to preserve the working wear legacy so strong associated to the brand.
Every single piece of the collection has its own story to tell and its own source of inspiration from the American outerwear heritage. This fall sees the first collection for Woolrich Woolen Mills by American designer Mark McNairy which results in a collection that adds elements of classic tailoring, military clothing and American varsity style to Woolrich archive pieces.
We are proud to say that Nitty Gritty was the first select store chosen to market and sell Woolrich Woolen Mills in the whole of Scandinavia.
