20 YRS Collection

Stone Island has since long been world leading in material developement and garment dying techniques and it was the perfect opportunity for us to produce a parka created in modern production techniques using Stone Islands ”OLD” garment dying process, which results in an aged finish to capture the spirit of an early 90's vintage piece with a removable resin treated wool inner, garment dyed in Nitty Gritty's signature colour orange.

The whole creative process is quite advanced and time consuming, and the limited series of only 20 jackets available for purchase worldwide is unique. Stone Island were very pleased with the end result, we are overwhelmed and we hope that grand master Massimo Osti would have enjoyed the Nitty Gritty 20th Anniversary parka as well

The White Levis 505 is the ultimate and true to origin mod jean, but also the style worn by skinheads throughout the years. We asked our friends over at Levis Vintage if they could re-produce the white 505 for our special anniversary celebration.

They accepted our request and liked the idea so much that they decided to include it in the LVC collection for Spring/Summer 2012. But they also created 20 pairs just for us so we could add them exclusively into our 20 YRS celebration collection. What they did was actually to over dye the regular raw 505’s so they became softer in hand and got a touch of a very light blue tone

During the past 20 years of Nitty Gritty, Carhartt has always been a very important and true love affair for us as supplier of classic sweaters, Siberian Parkas, cargo pants and pocket tee's. We decided that they have really earned their place in our 20YRS anniversary collection so we asked them if we could use their true to origin "Founders Sweat" to print the 20YRS logo on the chest. By doing so it would turn it into the signature piece out of the six collaboration products that we´ve done. They agreed and here´s the result!

We were able to put our own touch on their signature piece and the result is a beautiful green coloured polo piquet shirt with twin tipped collar, orange contrast ending on sleeves and the original Fred Perry embroidered Laurel patch. Everything put together with the idea that it should look like it was the polo you where wearing the first time you heard the Stone Roses or when you had Blur's Parklife on repeat on your stereo. It's got a slightly washed out feeling and the touch is just like if you had stowed away the shirt in the end of 1994 and just found it again...
Made in England, the Fred Perry M12 shirt has kept the same iconic styling since its original design in the 1950s. Created in cotton pique this well loved shirt features a traditional two button neck and is completed with the signature Laurel Wreath embroidery.

The City Trek boots by Lundhags have been designed by the Nitty Gritty team in order to get a comfy and slightly slicker version of the classic Lundhags cell rubber boot. By adding a dark brown premium leather, golden eyelets, and a low Vibram commando sole we ended up with a kind of punkish or skinheadish look or interpretation of the classic hiker style that throughout the years has built the worldwide reputation of Lundhags as being one of the best boot makers in the world. Our limited pairs of 20 have been made by hand by Mats-Håkan Lundhag himself, great grandson of the founder Jonas Lundhag, at HQ still situated in the small factory kept up in the North of Sweden, Järpen.

The last of the 6 items to be released this season in honour of our celebration is the best possible knitted hat that we have ever known. Michael Drake may be a hell of a guy in regards to tie- and scarves making but if it were up to us, he could easily skip all that and just focus on the knitted hats. His rib knitted hat is the closest to perfection we have ever seen and when we in addition to shape and quality could create our own limited run of 20 pieces in our signature colour Orange we felt that our 20YRS collaboration collection mission was completed. Hopefully you will feel the same way too. "]The last of the 6 items to be released this season in honour of our celebration is the best possible knitted hat that we have ever known.
