The pride we felt a couple of weeks ago had no limits when it came to our attention that one of our overall favourite movie directors in modern time, Mr. David Fincher had chosen the Nitty Gritty Store for the shooting of a few end scenes in his ongoing project “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” based upon the world famous Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s best seller with the same name. Mr. Fincher has throughout the years touched and inspired us all with illustrious movies like Seven, The Game, Fight Club, Panic Room and last year’s blockbuster The Social Network for which he was awarded no less than three Oscars. Before he started making movies he was a very recognized and successful director of commercials and music videos and has worked with celebrated artists such as Madonna, Sting, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones.

Hiroki Nakamura, founder and creative director at Visvim is a man of the world. Many are the travels he has made around the world in search for inspiration, fabrics and new production techniques. Pre creating the Spring/Summer collection of 2011 he made his way to New Mexico in search of inspiration inter alia.

New co-op
A couple of years ago one of our former store managers sold her Stockholm based studio flat and moved together with her husband down south to the calm and beautiful countryside of Sweden. Though she left the big city life behind her she didn´t really want to leave her interest in clothes, fashion and beautiful products behind. So she started, together with her beloved husband, a nice, soft and minimalistic underwear brand by the name “The White Briefs”. After a few years of brand development they are now in the midst of releasing their first co-op ever. They have collaborated with one of our favourite magazines which made us all very excited when we first heard about it. Since then we have been waiting impatiently and now the day has finally arrived. This is how they themselves describe their chosen concept:
