About the brand

It’s hard to get any more understated than Common Projects. With a brutal line of monotone classics, without any advertising or marketing strategies, they have still managed to win the world over, just by being as simple as it can be. So behold the GREY power of Common Projects. Common Projects is a partnership between designers Flavio Girolami and Prathan Poopat who are long time friends, inspired by architecture found in everyday objects, each product is infused with tailored approach using the finest materials and processes. The Common Project shoes are currently made in Italy using the finest leathers and materials. The shoes are hand stitched to the sole as opposed to vulcanized. Most sneakers are made in either China or Vietnam and as a valued Nitty Gritty customer we know you will be able to spot the difference. Pratham was once asked the question: What is so compelling about being ‘anonymous’ in this day and age where logos and information are coming at you faster and bigger and every consumer item screams for attention? His answer: “I think people try to form their own identity through brands these days. I think what we do is sort of the opposite. We provide a blank canvas. Also I just don't like the idea of being labelled. Do you?” Wise words from a wise man!
